Planning the next 30 months of the BID

The BID’s successes to date

Hitchin town centre has enjoyed the benefits of being a Business Improvement District for almost half of the BID’s initial five-year term.

The efforts of Keith and his team have helped our town reverse the national trends of declining high streets, low occupancy rates, rising crime and increasing anti-social behaviour. The town centre is cleaner, safer, more attractive to visitors. And, in 2011, the trading environment is being enhanced by almost £10 million of additional investment from existing businesses alone - a huge vote of confidence in Hitchin as a trading base.

Planning the next 30 months

The BID business plan, agreed in the less difficult economic climate of 2008, needs to be updated – so the team can continue the good work. It’s essential that the revised plan delivers projects that will make a positive, long-term difference to your business.

Have your say – it’s important!

There’s a planning workshop in the Priory on Wednesday 19th October, 5.30-8pm. We’ll review the existing plan, keep what’s working, bin what isn’t and agree with YOU what you really want to see in Hitchin. Naturally we want as many BID members there as possible - to contribute ideas that will shape the next 30 months. Food and drink will be provided for all those attending.

The aim is simple

The BID is dedicated to improving the trading environment of Hitchin, saving you money on your operating costs, making your business better.

Help us achieve that. Make sure we hear your voice on the 19th!

One lucky participant who has pre-registered and turns up on the 19th will win the prize draw for £1,000 worth of valuable business services, picked from a great variety on offer from our members  -  services could include website make-over, business planning, accountancy advice, ‘wrap’ advertising in the local print media or enhanced waste disposal services...
